Our Tent Trailer's Maiden Overnighter

We recently bought a tent trailer and decided to go camping during spring break. We just decided to go up the canyon as to stay close in case something didn't go smoothly. Camp sites are not open yet, but we found a site that we could pull into. We set up within minutes and started to enjoy the outdoors. The kids were all a giddy! We played lots of games, cooked hamburgers and hot dogs, went on a walk with Hailey and then played more games. Because the camping season isn't officially open, the bathrooms were locked. We have no problem using the nature around us. But, as we were on our walk, we came upon the Old Juniper Tree trail head. At the trail head, there was a bathroom. I had Marisol try the door and sure enough, it was unlocked! Yay! A close potty to use. The night was very cold! We have a heater in our tent trailer, so Eric and I went to start up the electrical so we could use the lights when it got dark and turn on the heater. No luck! We then tried to switch the electrical to the propane tank, but also couldn't get that to light. Great! We made due with the flashlights for lights and bundled up for the cold, but were bummed we couldn't get the heater to work. Also because we couldn't get the propane to work, our stove for the morning was not going to work. We had brought up a hibachi grill for dinner, but that was not going to work for breakfast. The night was long and cold. The morning was COLD! The fire rings outside hadn't been cleaned, so the wood was damp and we couldn't get a fire to light. Needless to say, we packed up at 7:30am and headed home to warm showers, heat and a gas stove for breakfast. It sounds like a disaster, but the kids had a great time and now we know what we need to figure out before the next camping trip!
Hailey felt right a home in the trailer
The kids were so excited to have Hailey come camping with us!
What a happy puppy!
