After a yummy breakfast of pancakes, bacon, yogurt and fruit, we all did some chores and did our reading for the day. Then a 11:00 we headed to Grammy Pammy and Grandpa Du's house for the annual treasure hunt and yummy lunch! Grammy Pammy always has a fantastic treasure hunt with rhyming riddles either inside or outside the house. This year, the weather was so beautiful that the treasure hunt was held outside. At the end of the hunt around the yard, each participant received 5 golden dollar coins! WOW! We love our annual tradition. Then we went inside for yummy food. The meal consisted of sloppy joes, chips and a variety of delicious salads! We were all very full and enjoyed conversation galore. Once nap time arrived, everyone headed home to enjoy their treats and quiet time. Once we got home, we had our own Easter egg hunt. Eric and I hid 43 eggs around the house for Marisol and Omar to find. They found all but one. It is still missing too! In one of the eggs, I put a little plastic chick. Who ever found this egg, got a quarter. Marisol found it and was very excited to add her new quarter to her wallet. I discovered that Mariosl and Omar need new shoes for school. So off to Payless we went. We found some really nice shoes for a great price. The kids were very happy with their new shoes. When we got home, Uncle Jeff stopped by with some treats from Grandma and Grandpa Miller. Inside the gift bags were cascarones. They are a Mexican tradition used for celebrations. You empty egg shells, dye them bright colors and fill them with confetti. Then seal of the end of the shell with tissue paper. The tradition is to throw the eggs down or over someone's head and have the confetti fly out. The kids had a fun time doing this! All in all, it was a great Easter Saturday.
